This thread is for the discussion of anything relating to AP Spanish Literature. Discuss the class, the exam, the homework, the content etc.
About the Subject:
Spanish Literature and Culture course introduces students to representative texts (short stories, novels, poetry, and essays) from Peninsular Spanish, Latin American, and United States Hispanic literature. The course also includes a strong focus on cultural connections and comparisons, including exploration of various media (e.g., art, film, articles, literary criticism).
About the Class:
Instructor: Mr. Duron
Most class periods consist of reading a text together as a class and discussing the material afterwards. The class is heavily based on reading (You'll probably read more in this class than in AP English Literature). People usually take this class after taking the AP Spanish Language exam. You must know how to speak, read and write in Spanish proficiently in order to do well in this class.
The intensity of the class when it comes to reading is manageable but it varies wildly throughout grading cycles. Sometimes there is a lot to read, sometimes there isn't much to read. Grading is mostly based on answering the questions of the packets and class projects.
Warning: First day of class you will be surprised with a mock AP exam. You'll do badly, but as time goes by, you'll realize the mock exam wasn't actually as hard as you might have thought.
Quotes from students taking the class:
"AP Spanish Language on steroids."

About the Exam:
This exam doesn't really need lots of practice.
Just study the resources given in class and you'll be fine.
